For
as long as people have studied martial
art there has always been an overhanging
question: which art can beat all others,
in true realistic combat with all variables
in mind?
In
the early part of the last century,
mixed arts events started to become
popular in South-America and other
Asian countries that had martial backgrounds
or strong followings.
Finally,
in 1993, the Ultimate Fighting Championship
brought mixed martial arts to a North
American public who had probably asked
themselves the same question - which
art can beat all others?
Thus,
the art of MMA or mixed martial arts
was developed. Just as the name describes,
MMA has taken the most effective techniques
from the most feared of the martial
arts and developed the techniques to
deal with a one on one real fight situation.
This is done by using Jiu-Jitsu, Muy
Thai, Western Boxing, Judo, and wrestling,
to dominate, submit, and impose your
will on your opponent.
Remember,
there are no referees to stop you in
the streets and there are no rules,
so keeping this in mind, making the
mistake of not training in all the
disciplines is not only a mistake,
it's fatal.
